Album Notes: Valamo singing consists of ancient historical chants or system of melodies “of the Great and Little Znamenny Chants and others as well. These melodies are in fact the oldest Russian church song material. All the recordings are done by the author. They are based on the unison melodies of Valamo Monastery’s “Obikhod”. These are spirits full of peaceful melodies. The Ancient Chants of All-Night Vigil compiled by V.Petrov.
